Treestone Ice,  there's indeed no question that there's a large number of Chargers fans in San Diego that hate the Raiders.   Yet,  there's also a large following for the Raiders in Southern California.  This is very likely because of the 13 seasons the Raiders played in Los Angeles.    At Chargers home games,   there are always plenty of Raiders fans in the house.    When combining the Raiders following in Southern California with bitterness a high % of Chargers fans have with team owner Dean Spanos,    I think that many current Chargers fans will become Raiders fans if the team moves to San Diego.

 

The lack of stability of NFL teams in California certainly jumps out.   The 49ers are the only California NFL team that has always had it's roots in their current home market.   Even with the 49ers,  there are some people from San Francisco that are really ticked off that the team moved south to Santa Clara.    The latter is much closer to San Jose than to SF.

 

 

Though California has the population to support 4 NFL teams,   winning is going to be a very important component for the teams to receive support.   In Los Angeles,  eventually winning probably won't be enough because of all of the other entertainment options.    Winning AND being entertaining will likely be necessary for LA NFL teams to get large support once the novelty of having NFL football again and the Inglewood Stadium wears out.
