I remember that. The folks I worked around at the time were happy a black man was finally in office but he wasn't black enough. I was like- what? I didn't even bother to ask what that meant. I do know after the initial 'high' in the community wore off a lot of them started complaining that he was just like all other politicians and wasn't going to do for them what they thought he would do. I'm not sure what they were expecting.

 

I haven't expected much from any POTUS who has been in office since I could first vote in 1990. I guess I'm just jaded that way. They all lie to get what they want and we the people don't matter and we haven't in a long time.
