In the military you have no political, social, racial, religious, etc, opinion while in uniform. You have your job and all it entails. At least that's how it's supposed to be but not always how it is. There is no one that is going to force any ideals down your throat. They'll force a lot of things, but not ideals. That's not been the experience of many of my friends who have been to college. They have/had professors throwing all kinds of stuff in their curriculum that shouldn't be there because to educate is not to tell someone your opinion but the facts or history. Too much opinion is being thrown about and it's distorting the truth and the facts and soon will distort history.

 

Interesting, what you say about your friends who have been in college is similar to what I've heard from friends and family in the military, especially when it comes to a topic we can't discuss here.

 

Admittedly, I attended college in the early 80s, but I experienced nothing like what you described. If anything, I learned to open my mind to various points of view.
