In a very broad sense, I want the LB corps to become the force of the Defense, much like the Patrick Willis - Navarro Bowman 49ers. In order to achieve this, high level talent needs to be added (thanks Captain Obvious) so that means investing a lot of capital at the spot. There are some top flight talents at LB available in the Draft this year, top flight in my opinion anyway. So it would seem that the team is going to have to go LB early in the Draft in order to get one.

 

While I understand that Free Safety is a big point of emphasis for a lot of people, I am of the line of thinking that a big time talent at LB, regardless of which LB spot it is, has a much larger and quicker return than DB. In other words, you get better, faster when you add good talent to LB as opposed to DB.

 

All of that being said, I think the team cherry picks a Free Agent or two at the spot, then goes LB early (Myles Jack please!) and probably comes back around later in the form of Matakevich from Temple, Kwiatkoski from WVU, or Rhodes from William & Mary.
