I absolutely believe the people should be able to vote for who they want but we both know that between our electoral process and the special interest groups that pay for their politician of choice the people haven't had a real say in a very long time. 

 

But my point was this: some people voted for Obama just because he was black. Many women will vote for Clinton just because she's female. Some will vote for Trump just because he's not a politician. Those alone are not reasons in my opinion to vote for someone. We should vote for the best possible candidate based on their platform and what they can bring to the office. That is not an option from either of these candidates. Trump has no platform and Clinton is a career criminal. I personally have a problem with these things. 

 

And I agree with D6 that voters from opposing parties should not have the ability to vote in the primary to prevent someone they don't want in from getting in. NC allows this if you are an unaffiliated voter, or what may be called Independent in other states. You can switch to unaffiliated to vote in the primary for whatever reason you have to do so. I think it's cheating but the who damn system is corrupt so what can you do?
