Quote:ANY Back can succeed in short yardage of the line is opening a hole for them. The good ones find a way when there isn't a hole. I didn't say opening a hole for him. I said not allowing penetration, which is the biggest run killer there is, especially true on short yardage. The line doesn't have to be good, but linemen can't be knifing into the backfield. Some backs can handle it better than others and Toby is poor at it. If Toby can get a couple steps in, he usually gets forward lean and the extra yard or two. Of course all running backs would be better with a clean backfield, but Toby requires it and unfortunately Jacksonville is unable to give it to him. I still think he is a very tough runner. He'll do better on his next team. He didn't just suddenly forget how to run the year after he left the Vikings. |
