Just a few things here.


1 - O'halloran is clearly the one doing the spinning if he has you typing "we failed to bring in a pass rusher" because that's a false statement. We landed the best interior pass rusher available and made offers to two edge rushers.


2 - The nature of the free agency process is a gamble. Players' free will to sign elsewhere for a myriad of reasons (logical or not) must be considered. There's no foolproof method of winning the bidding war with other teams, and you have no assurances of the player fulfilling expectations. It's not a "failure" when a player simply chooses a different city/team/scheme for reasons we can only speculate upon.


3 - I was also disappointed that we couldn't land a vet LEO-type to rotate with Fowler, but I do recognize that Malik will benefit our pass rush. Directly and indirectly.

I think Ryan and others are attempting to sweep that under the rug to support their dissonant view. A view being voiced solely to attract attention with a negative headline.
