Ryan O'halloran's opinions on Jaguars' free agency

#39

I think his C- is harsh and unfair.

Yes, the team failed to acquire the outside pass rusher the team desperately needs.

But pass rusher, while the biggest hole, was far from the only hole that needed to be addressed and far from the only position on the team that needed strengthening.

The secondary got clearly better with Amukumara and Gipson.  Gipson is the FS this team has lacked since Deon Grant left, and Amukumara, when he has been healthy, has been a good solid CB.

The offensive line got quality at LT with Beachum, who will either push Joeckel to get better or push him out of the lineup.  Either way, LT is deeper than it has been since the days of Boselli and Coleman.

RB is now set with quality and depth with the addition of Chris Ivory.  When Yeldon went down late in the year, Robinson did not pick up the slack and perform as well as he did a couple of years ago.  He seems to have regressed.  Ivory is bigger and more physical, and should be better between the tackles.

Finally, D-Line-even without the outside pass rusher, got better and deeper with the Jackson signing.  He was clearly a player in ascent this year in Denver, and he made a difference in a lot of the games this year.  His presence likely pushes Alualu off the roster and gives us another 3t that could potentially make disruptive plays inside.  Paired with a finally healthy Marks, there could be a lot of disruption of pockets and blocking schemes with their penetration.

To suggest at this early stage that this is a C-group is a tantrum of sports journalism.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!
