Numerous NFL front office and coaching sources agreed with Thornton's assessment that Jack, projected as a top-10 pick, would not be hurt by his failure to run a 40.


"I don't think it will affect anything," said the head coach of one team with a top-10 pick. "He's doing a ton of great movement stuff."


Said another team's top personnel executive: "It won't hurt him at all. He's so good it doesn't matter."

It sounds like he and his agent are just playing it safe and TBH it's a smart move. He's a lock to go in the top 8 and this close to draft time Jack has nothing to gain and plenty to lose by running the 40. He's already demonstrated his explosiveness at his pro day by moving around well in positional drills and posting a 40 inch vert.


To add he's also going to a medical re-check to have the knee ok'd and his agent is willing to let him run in a private workout for a team if it's requested. This is a non issue.
