Although every essential part of the government kept running, so calling it a "shutdown" is a gross exaggeration.

 

I knew quite of few folks that work at Kirkland AFB in New Mexico that would describe it as a shut down...  There were alot of government contractors that lost paychecks for this stunt.

 

I'm sorry, but tying a spending bill to repealing Obama Care was a reckless and stupid, not to mention dishonest stunt.  Remember, the whole crux of the shut down was to try and get Obama and the democrats to repeal Obama-Care...  That was the whole point of the stupid stung that Cruz orchestrated.
