The party leaders have to get together and say, "If we put up so and so and put his nomination before the convention, along with all the other candidates who are still in this thing, can this so and so get a majority?" The problem is that the two parties have too much control. I'm not so sure what's so hard to see about that. It doesn't matter who the people think best represent them. It matters who the party thinks represent them.
