As it's already been said, the Nickel package is on the field like 60% of the time. Dave has said a few times that our Defense was very good on 1st and 2nd, but it was 3rd down where it all fell apart. With that in mind, I believe Poz will stay in the middle for his run stopping and then will come off the field on 3rd and nickel situations, which would have Jack and Telvin manning the middle. In a recent interview, Jack claims he has been working heavily on his pass rushing moves so that could add a huge wrinkle to his game.

 

When Poz is on the field, you will either see Jack at the OTTO or some safety hybrid-role. I also hope that Gus gets a little creative with Jack outside of just sticking him at LB and that being it. Jack is dangerous with the ball in his hand so I would like to see us take advantage of that as well (assuming his knee is fine). I would occasionally line him up at RB and possibly even let him handle a kick off. UCLA had toyed with the idea in practice but he never got the chance to do it in a game. He has also showed the ability to block punts so he could even be a ST demon for us. Jack really seems like a guy who could be a major force in all 3 phases of the game.
