I'll try to decipher your response to my question.

 

I outlined in another thread the true story of a worker that makes more than the "living wage" that is defined.  She is a woman that makes far more than the minimum wage for the area, yet has no health insurance (despite obamacare), no savings (401k or otherwise) and used up her "sick leave" as well as vacation time from work to do "fun stuff".  She was diagnosed with breast cancer and will be undergoing treatment for it.  How will this be paid for?  By my tax dollars.

 

However, she does have high speed internet and the latest iPhone.  I would tell you how to pick up her tweets, but I don't twit.  She does update her Facebook page regularly.

 

In the meantime, my tax dollars will pay for her medical needs as well as her food needs.

 

So yes, "wasted tax money" goes to a lower paid worker due to her own wrong life choices.  Does that apply to all lower income individuals?  Of course not, but there are far too many just like her that we are paying for.

 

I define irresponsible as someone that doesn't take advantage of an employer savings and/or health plan.  Instead, the person decides to spend money on "wants" rather than "needs".  She is an example of someone not working her way up.  She rely's on the "safety net" of others to pay for her choices.  This isn't a young person either.  Once she reaches "retirement age" (62 1/2) which isn't that far off, we will be paying her Social Security benefits.
