Also Pittsburgh had made an offer to Beachum that he rejected prior to his injury and now seems content with Villanueva as their LT. New York offered him a similar deal as ours, but he chose to come here instead. He had a visit scheduled with Seattle, but he never made it there due to our offer. I don't think Denver had any interest in him though.

I don't think Dunlap is a world beater but he's solid and like I said, put on the tape and according to every SD fan I've talked to their problem is inside, not out.


As for Beachum, I know all those teams talked to him or even gave an offer. What I'm saying is if everyone saw him as a high end talent at LT with minimal risk coming back, he wouldn't have accepted a prove it deal with a chance at a decent extension, he would have got a guaranteed solid contract...at least you'd think so.


I was clamoring for Beachum and like him a lot. Think he can be our LT long term. I like our LT situation more than SD, but don't think SD is pigeon holed in to a LT or bust here. They have a solid option locked up for a few more yrs. Getting up there in age but not like he's at the age where he's damn near done. Got a few solid yrs left I'm sure.
