Without these players the NFL doesn't exist. That shouldn't be an argument. CBS, ESPN, FOX, and NBC pay big bucks to broadcast these games because of the players. If anything they should be making more. NFL player salaries pale in comparison to other major sports such as the NBA, MLB, and Soccer.

And I beg to differ a little.  The players now did not make the game great the players 30 yrs ago did.  They did not cash out but these guys are.  They got handed a silver platter full of gold by previous generations.

 

The rules today even make these guys play like pansies.  Skills in demand?  Well that is a product of society let the economy collapse worse than before and we will see how in demand these skills are.

 

These "players" couldn't operate this business of the NFL if there life depended on it to make it produce the profits that it does.  They still play FOOTBALL.  But whatever.
