MERGED - NORMAN-MANIA!

Quote:You guys certainly know more about your cap and the contracts that you've given out than I do - I certainly wouldn't even pretend to know. I just think overpaying for a player, regardless of what cap room you have, is irresponsible spending. Is it though? What's $1-2m per year to NFL teams? Brandon Weeden earns that. I'm not in the "all in for Norman" camp but I think $1m a year extra doesn't make it irresponsible, especially if you structure it to be team friendly after a couple of years. The cap is always increasing, $16m a year might look a lot now but next year it won't. Everyone said we overpaid for Julius Thomas who is an elite Tight End yet this year scrubs like Coby Fleener are picking up contracts that aren't far off what Thomas is getting. |
