Your silly comment about Kaitlyn Jenner does bring to mind a question. How will a law restricting transgenders to the restroom that corresponds to their genitals be enforced? Grope checks? IDs? What if they've had reassignment surgery, will there be some sort of verification of authenticity process?

 

Only a "silly comment about Kaitlyn Jenner" brings the question to mind for you and therein lies the problem.  Those who trumpet the "right" of transgenders to use the restroom of their choice and demand supporting legislation, do so without consideration of the resulting infringement on the rights of others. 

 

I am not overly concerned with the, one-in a million, truly transgender individual my wife or daughter may encounter in a restroom, where genitalia is typically not exposed.  I am extremely concerned with the perverts who will use the opportunity to gain access for other purposes.  Beyond that, what of the locker room setting with open showers?  What shall my wife do when she takes her Girl Scout troop to the waterpark?  Does a man, with all the hardware, have the right to walk around naked in front of them, simply because he "identifies" (or claims to) as a woman.
