Curt Schilling fired over NC Bathroom law

(This post was last modified: 04-26-2016, 07:56 PM by Kotite.)

Quote:Loll. As a libertarian at heart I feel the idea of the state trying to micro manage the use of bathrooms would be both unenforcible and politically untenable. Exactly.

As well as the low incident rate not lending itself to the state having standing to try and enforce a restriction.

It's not a low incident rate. It's a no incident rate. The probability of anyone in your family sharing a public restroom with a trans person in general is extremely low. The probability of anyone in your family sharing a public restroom with a trans person and being attacked is unheard of. You were never thinking about that scenario until large numbers of people invoked religion as a justifiable means to discriminate and propped up the absurd notion that providing equal (not special, but equal) protections to a minority will put the lives of your loved ones at risk because of where they void waste. A no incident rate.
And you have allowed this to become a rational fear.

Which makes your rant listed above a demonstration of your own blind prejudice. Did you see that part of my 'rant' which said "My issue with you is you don't know how to read or defend an argument?" You didn't waste much time proving that point. What the hell are you saying here? My blind prejudice? I have a blind prejudice against people who are afraid of the boogeyman? Or I have blind prejudice because I am discriminating against all the concerned citizens who are afraid to go wee wee and ploppies with transgender people who are only there to do the same thing? I have a blind prejudice because I don't feel one's right to religion trumps the civil liberties of trans people (--which I had never introduced until this point)? Or I have blind prejudice because I call you the [BAD WORD REMOVED] troll you are?

But it is nice to know in living rent free in your head. Keep thinking that. I know your schtick. And I am well aware of your limitations when it comes to debate. I know you refute any argument I make without disputing any of the facts I state. And now I've confirmed you're delusional.

While I don't think its a state issue, its irresponsible to dismiss the concerns of the public as we experience cultural shift. What concerns? The president of Liberty Counsel tweeted she's taking her Glock to the ladies room. What the [BAD WORD REMOVED] are you afraid of? Glitter? There are NO INCIDENTS of violence caused by trans people on regular people in the bathrooms. None. That level of irrational concern is the epitome of you fearing what you don't understand. As for the cultural shift, I'm sorry it destroys your perception of the world that gay and trans people are able to somewhat live out of the closet because it is more socially acceptable and because most of the free world has provided full equality in the eyes of the law. I assure you there is still plenty of violence perpetrated on gay people every day. The numbers of kids thrown out onto the streets for being gay or trans (not for 'choosing to be' -- 'for being') is still alarming. Has bullying or suicide rates dropped significantly that it's shifting your culture? Is the public concerned the number of gay people will explode because more and more young people don't think it's a complete nightmare to know or like or hang out with or care about someone who is gay or trans?

I'm not comfortable with someone anatomically male that's sexually straight in the same bathroom as my wife or daughter because they like to walk around in heels. More evidence that you don't know what the hell you are talking about.. especially on this subject. I've tried to believe you were not this dumb. I've tried.

We've never had a culture that glorifies Caitlin Jenner or JAZZ and encouraged so many people that would previously just cross dress in their own homes to express that in public, so in actuality there is a lot of uncertainty about how this will play out. Caitlin Jenner is an extremely poor representative of the trans community. Jazz is an excellent example. So your problem is because some girls like to dress like boys and some guys like to wear dresses. They have the incredible nerve to do that in public. That impacts you how? Your eyes burn? Or maybe you just find it weird. What are you uncertain about? Is everyone gonna start doing it? Will you turn gay or trans? Or are you afraid it will just be normalized to the point you will be 85 and on your death bed and not as skeeved out about it then as you are now? So people shouldn't have the right to be themselves because it makes YOU uncomfortable?

At current the state doesn't have a role but if something happens the left is fully culpable. How do you sleep at night knowing a trans person could be under your bed? Maybe not enough of them were beaten and killed..

I would get into how Native Americans treated these people as having special gifts and being "two-spirited," but I am positive I have wasted enough time on your nonsense.
Only a chump boos the home team!
