Here Is A Few Numbers For You Guys. Some Are Really Good, Some Are Bad

Quote:Lets take a look at the bad first.  We all know that MJD just came off an injury, which I understand that.  The fact is he is playing so I wanted to break down his numbers from last year and this year.  Right now he has 115 rushing yards going into the 4th game with a 2.6 average with his longest run being 10 yards and 1 TD.

So now lets take a look at last season before the injury.  If you take away the Indy game from 2012, his longest run from scrimmage is 27 yards.  Since the end of 2011 Jones-Drew only has 2 rushing TD.  And it has been 368 days since his last 100 yard game.  You have to go all the way back to the beginning of last year when he went over 100 yards @ Indy on 09/28/2012.

Ok now lets take a look at the good.  Cecil Shorts....

In his last 16 games (Did not even play in the 2nd game of 2012, but we're counting it anyway) Shorts has caught 70 passes for 1181 yards and 8 TD.  Through that span he has FIVE 100 yard games and he is currently 10th in the NFL in yards with 243.  And a side note that means nothing, he is owned in 99.1% of fantasy leagues.

And if anyone cares, our defense is giving up 30.7 points per game.  So even if we were averaging 28 to 30 points per game on offense, it doesn't look like it would even matter.  It is possible the defense is worse than the offense.

Good post. Lets not forget Cecil Shorts is posting these numbers with suspect QB play. When Blackmon returns the Jaguars will have 2 good outside wide-outs. With some good quarterbacking the Jaguar offense could turn around real quick.

MJD is clearly slowing down. He is one of the best guys in the league period. I love his story. I love his heart. I love his determination. He is someone I personally pull for to do well. Its sad that the Jaguars were never able to build a team around him during his prime years so that the Nation could get an understanding as to just how good he really was. By the time the Jaguars are good again, there is a chance MJD won't even be on the team. Its sad. But that's how the NFL works.

To me, MJD is the greatest Jaguar ever. I am an outsider. But I hope Jaguar fans remember him in that light.
