 I was surprised how the Eugene Monroe turned out,  as when hearing that he was traded to Baltimore,   I thought that the Jaguars would receive noticeably more in return.  

 

Chances are,  Dave Caldwell spoke to many GM's around the league and got the impression that Monroe's value wasn't close to the level that many people,  including myself,  thought.   Hence,  Caldwell decided to cash his chips in for Monroe back in early October,  instead of risking that Monroe would suffer an injury that would basically end his trade value altogether.

 

Yes,  once Jay Cutler was traded after receiving and signing the Franchise Tag,  he would be off the Bears salary cap books.
