The NFL isn't past the size thing at QB.  It's like the litmus test for whether you have a decent chance to be successful or not in the NFL.  It doesn't mean you automatically can play if you're prototypical height.  But if you're under 6'2", you can say with a high level of confidence that it's probably not going to work out.  Not that those guys are undraftable, you just don't spend a high draft pick on a short guy unless you're the Browns and panic that someone is going to steal your pipsqueak "franchise" guy.  Brees and Wilson went in the 2nd and 3rd rounds respectively and both had a lot going for them that would warrant a look in the rounds they were drafted, but not in the 1st.

 

Allen is a developmental guy and to be quite honest it's probably not going to work out for him, but in the 6th round it's worth the risk.  6'2" is the bottom end of the height spectrum for QBs in the NFL.  Go look up the height of QBs throughout NFL history.  The number of them that are 6'1" or shorter and have any sort of meaningful playing career is staggeringly low.

 

I'll take your top rating though considering we got the guy.  I hope it works out for him.
