Now they see the latest savior and decided to cast their lot with him. If he loses they can always go back to claiming they have deep and serious "values".

With these particular folks, they are old and salty people, just after WW2 generation, so they have a certain mindset and the way the government and political system has been handled in recent decades chaps their hides so they want someone to shake things up. I understand this because I'm sick of the system as it is, but I'm not voting for someone just because they go against the grain if everything else they are for is not even close to what I believe in. 

 

Heck, my father-in-law is a conservative through and through but refuses to vote republican because, and I quote, "the rich man never did anything for me." My husband and I both pointed out the lunacy of that statement, especially considering that other than the Air Force during Vietnam the only other job he worked until retirement was for a phone company. Poor people don't own phone companies. He consistently votes democrat.
