I think you may want to reevaluate your preconceptions of the last 2 democrats that were president.


It's important to at least acknowledge the facts, even if you disagree with a party's political policies or ideologies..

 

You can't stand Bill Clinton and say that he left office with a "surplus", but what does that really mean?  In reality, it meant that the U.S. government was projected to spend less due to revenue increases from raising taxes.  At the time, many people were not only riding the impending "dot-com" bubble, but real estate became the "new entitlement".  Among Bill Clinton's accomplishments, many liberals such as you tend to ignore the welfare reform that he signed into law.  By the way, that came from a republican congress.

 

Obama "bringing the country back from near depression" had nothing to do with him.  If anything, his policy regarding health care made matters worse.  The fallen economy was all about two factors.  9/11 and the inflated housing/loan market.  Now I will concede that the housing/loan market was increased and inflated during G.W. Bush's watch, but there were certainly warnings.  Another factor was lowering interest rates.  Credit became "cheap" and "easy to get".  Where Obama has failed is appointing Janet Yellen as Chair of the Federal Reserve.  Her refusal to raise interest rates, especially this year (during an election year) shows how his judgment is off.  It's not about what is best for the economy, it's all about what is best politically.

 

At least acknowledge the facts.
