Curt Schilling fired over NC Bathroom law

Quote:It's not my solution. It's just one I support. I assume you do not have an alternative proposal.

You don't agree with allowing trans people to use the bathroom they're most comfortable with because of 'fears' and 'concerns.' You linked to Google searches to articles I had to read for you to verify their content (which proves you seemingly don't care to defend your stance). Your mind is made up regardless of any fact I pose to support the argument this solution does not have the boogeyman collateral damage you allude to occurring. You reject the statements of multiple government officials when they say these policies are not creating any increase in bathroom attacks. But are unable to dispute the validity of any of their statements.

You don't deny trans people are targeted for violence for being who they are. You just don't care enough to really concern yourself with their fight (until you let people with agendas plant the notion allowing them to use the bathroom they feel comfortable with makes others unsafe - despite the facts. That's where the boogeyman comes in.). Fortunately, a number of people with more influence than you are not afraid to implement laws to protect them. I'm sorry your feelings on the matter give you irrational fears and concerns which you are incapable of justifying.

I numbered a bunch of facts in an earlier post and linked to some decent articles. Feel free to not read those either. You can say you don't agree with something. But when someone asks you 'why?' and you do not produce any reason why, it's easy for others to not legitimize your fears and concerns too. Because as you pointed out, there is clearly a victim of regular violence on a global level. And it isn't imaginary women or children in bathrooms caught in the crossfire of a controversial law.
You are correct, I am not as concerned about this as you.  I am not interested in reading every article nor do I have the time.  Sorry but the plight of transgenders does not keep up at night.  You obviously are very passionate about making transgenders comfortable regardless of any consequences,  any concerns or the feelings of anyone that does not see things as you do.  Your attitude is that any woman or parent that feels uncomfortable with the sharing of a bathroom with a man or woman dressed as the opposite sex should sit down, shut up and accept it.  With that line of reasoning why don't we tell transgenders the same thing?  "Accept the sex you are born with and deal with it."

I am not so callous however so let's move on to to different solution.  Even though you have already dismissed it as being unacceptable, family facilities are a viable option.  They are being added to most if not all new construction and remodels.  They literally popping up all over the place.  This issue is taking care of itself yet that is not acceptable to you.  May I ask why?

Speaking of which you inquired as to what my reason is for disagreeing with you.  Simply put I am opposed to gender neutral bathrooms and locker rooms.  You will again cite and reference that there have been no incidents where this has been an acceptable practice.  I cannot take that at face value since for the most part this has been out of the public eye.  What happens now that it is?  You cannot deny that Target makes the announcement of accepting gender neutrality and with in two weeks there is an incident.  Was this an anomaly or a sign of things to come?  I prefer not to take that chance in this instance.  Though I have no personal experience with the plight of being transgender I do with sexual abuse and I would not wish that on anyone.

At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening.
