I doubt that would happen and if it does, say hello to another recession. One thing that is hampering The Fed right now is political season and it being an election year. If one looks at basic fundamentals right now, the stock market as well as the overall economy is weak and in danger of another burst bubble. The market is artificially pumped up right now and setting up for yet another huge decline.

I, too, doubt rates go negative. But the Fed has at the very least been telling the major banks to start including a negative rate scenario in their financial models and to have a plan in place. At the very least, the Fed has been thinking about it. Scary.

The worst part about the whole bubble situation and rates being so low, is that if there is a financial crisis, the Fed can't use their favorite tool to try to kick start the economy: cut rates! Lol.
