Jack Del Rio On Jim Rome Radio Show
|
A few thoughts...
I'm amazed Jim Rome's still on the air. To me, the guy is 1998. I listened to him for a few months then grew tired of his act. It's hard to believe people still listen to him nearly 20 years later. He just seems to have a short shelf-life IMO. Second, I'm not going to bad mouth JDR. While he wasn't a great coach, he wasn't a bad one either. I liked his aggression in going for 4th and shorts especially. He didn't see a 4th and 1 he didn't like. He was an innovator in that regard. He and Belicheck were never afraid to go for it on 4th and short which IMO revolutionized the NFL in a small way. I also liked how he'd call time out with 4 minutes or so to play instead of waiting until the last minute to call timeout. Most coaches wait too long to use them. His clock management is far superior to Bradley's.
