So Jon had no one to protect him and Ned took up that mantle.

 

I've read the first three books but it's been a while ago so I don't even know if this is part of the book story or TV story. Or anything more than a theory. Just my observations. 

 

So I say Dany, Jon and Bran who wargs into the third one.
