Quote:Good discussion on all sides. At this point in the off-season I'm just happy we still have all our starters healthy enough to be projected to be available at the start of training camp.
I am highly critical of Bradley, but he's the head coach so no use complaining about it right now.
But let's face it, the corner has been turned. The talent on this team is there. This is an above .500 team. Caldwell's job is safe.
If Gus is a true coach, he needs to prove it this season. This team needs to come out sharp and well prepared come September.
If we come out flat and play sloppy, inconsistent football it's gonna be clear where the responsibility falls.
Here's hoping Bradley has figured out how to be successful in the nfl.
The jaguars and its fans have waited long enough.
I agree completely with this part in bold.
If you were to do a position by position comparison with each team on the schedule, I think you'd find the Jaguars are better than most teams. For instance, take Green Bay.
QB:-Rodgers is a Super Bowl winning QB, multiple pro bowls/All Pro nods, and easily among the best in the game. Bortles is young and has promise, having thrown for 35 TDs and over 4000 yards last year, but he isn't yet at Rodgers level. Edge Packers.
RB-Chris Ivory and TJ yeldon form a good 1-2 punch. Lacy got on McCarthy's bad side with weight issues. By most reports, he is in good shape this year, but the edge goes to Jacksonville and the depth.
WR/TE-Jordy Nelson had some great seasons until tearing his ACL and missing all of last year. He is now 31. Without him, the productivity of the rest of the receivers fell off. Cobb only averaged just over 10 ypc. They signed Cook as a TE from the Rams. Jacksonville has two of the top young WRs in the game. Hurns and Robinson both caught over 10 TDs last year and both caught passes in excess of 1000 yards. After a slow start due to injury, Julius Thomas came on late last year at one point catching TDs in five straight games down the stretch. Edge: Jaguars.
OL-Both OLs were sieves last year, giving up over 90 sacks combined between the two teams. Edge: even
DL-Packers are down BJ Raji (retirement), and NT is uncertain for them. They added Kenny Clark out of UCLA, who should help. But then they thought that about Datone Jones. The Jaguars added Malik Jackson to a group that includes SenDerrick Marks, veteran NT Roy Miller, rookie Sheldon Day, and 2nd year guy Mike Bennett, giving them an effective rotation at DT and versatility at DE. Oh year, they also added Dante Fowler, who missed all of last year with an ACL-Edge: Jaguars
LB-If Peppers has anything left in the tank, he would team with Clay Matthews, Jr, who is returning to OLB to form a formidable pass rushing combo. But he is 36 this year. Jacksonville now has two of the youngest and fastest LBs in the league with Telvin Smith and rookie Myles Jack. Edge: Jaguars.
DB: If healthy, the two best DBs on the field will play for the Jaguars in rookie Jalen Ramsey and Tayshaun Gipson.
K-Edge: Packers
From a talent perspective, this team can match up with most teams.
Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
