Something that frustrates me is that this is one of the 'boxes' to check on a job application, or a voting balot card (sometimes).
Ok, so I've been in my job for 13 years and haven't applied elsewhere, I'm a heterosexual 31 year old male, but I don't seem to see the point in this question. Does it have any bearing on whether you get the job? Is it literally a demographics check (if so, why? Does it make a difference?) Oh, for what it's worth, I've participated in the survey here... I have no problem in doing so, my 'rant' is more about employers asking this question. I've just finished a study on Equality, Diversity & Inclusion within the workplace as part of a Vocational Qualification I'm doing. ![]() 80% of what I talk about is nonesense.. the other 25% is made up statistics... |
