Trump is saying the judge should recuse himself because he probably disagrees with Trump on a certain political issue. But if we go down that road, where does it end? Can a Republican be a judge in a case involving a Democrat, for example, when the case has nothing to do with politics?


Here's what Newt Gingrich has to say about it.


"We don't judge you as part of a group," Gingrich said on The John Gibson Show. "That would be to suggest blacks can't get a fair white judge, whites can't get a fair black judge. Asians can get a fair judge unless they're Asian and by the way, Asian means if you're Chinese, it has to be a Chinese judge because Vietnamese, while they're Asian, aren't Chinese. Once you go down that road, you destroy America."


Trump's court case has nothing to do with the proposed border wall. But because the judge is of Mexican descent, he should recuse himself because he might disagree with Trump on the border wall? If we apply this kind of standard to all judges, can we even have judges at all?
