Yeah, I was hoping for something little more...unusual.  It feels like that in areas where the showrunners ran out of Martin's original source material the plot lines have settled into a more conventional form of storytelling.  Still a good show.

 

I'm not going to knock Edmure for his decision making, when you've been under duress for years and then your kid is threatened on top of it, it's probably tough to hold out.  Also, I wonder if he doesn't have something else up his sleeve.  He seemed to have a little bit more self-assurance when he got back into Riverrun then he necessarily should have.
