There are quite a few who really liked Johnson, and thought he was this great libertarian.  I never saw it. I've never been terribly impressed by him. 

 

I actually liked Peterson because he adopted the Penny Plan and a flat tax, both items I agree with.  I didn't like his suggestion that we use a lottery or toll system to fund public works.  We've all lived in states where the lottery is intended for one purpose, but the money never seems to quite get where it needs to.

 

I thought Peterson's national security positions were pretty reasonable, and would probably play well with the electorate if he was to get the platform, but that didn't happen. 

 

I was fine with his views on the war on drugs.  It's a tremendous waste of resources, and there are better ways to spend that money on prevention and help than simply on enforcement.  The war on drugs was a noble concept, but a lousy plan. 

 

Johnson is just too wishy washy.  Putting Weld on the ticket made it clear that this was just another desperate attempt by the establishment republicans to field a campaign that could take out Trump.  It's a joke.  Weld is cut from the same libertarian cloth as Mitch McConnell.
