Unlawful gun owners commit 80 percent of gun crimes

Quote:That all depends.  Burglary comes to mind as to how a gun could fall into an irresponsible gun owner's hands.  What exactly are you getting at?

What I'm getting at is something mentioned in the article.

All new firearms start out as legally purchased, and then they are acquired by people who would not normally be allowed to purchase firearms.

You say burglary is one method for bad people to get guns, but so is craigslist.  So is inheritance.  So are gun shows.  There are all sorts of legal means for guns to wind up in the hands of felons, and most of the NRA crowd want no restrictions on the ability to trade guns.  In fact, many of them want the law to make it EASIER to buy them and sell them.

There are responsible gun owners, and there are irresponsible gun owners, and the law cannot discriminate between the two.
