Trump Campaign Overhaul
|
Quote:3 figures? $599 seems like a pretty low salary. Add the three trailing zeros along with .00 after it. What I'm getting at is how TAM was pinging on Stroud basically doubting his claimed income taxes. Age, occupation and whether or not someone has a family has nothing to do with it. Somebody could be in a top income tax bracket and have the job of a FedEx delivery driver. The FedEx driver that I was talking about happened to come into our office to deliver a package during one of the elections when the topic was raising taxes on those making more than (I think it was) $250,000.00. We were talking about it with our office liberal, and the FedEx driver made a comment that it would affect him. Of course, the office liberal was condescending like most liberals and said something to the effect that "this tax raise can no way affect you". The FedEx driver turned around and informed our resident liberal that he owned not only the truck that he drove, but 4 others as well. He employed the drivers as well as a small office staff. In other words, a small business in this case a franchisee. All of the income as well as all of the expenditures that he had was reported on his personal tax return. I'll never forget it. Our office liberal was dumbfounded. Liberals seem to think that people get/are wealthy because it was either "given" to them or it was obtained through some kind of fraudulent means. This is an example of a young man that probably had to invest a significant amount of money to get started, and still goes out and works hard every day. I would estimate that the guy was probably in his 30's maybe young 40's. I doubt that he lives in a mansion and gets drove around by a driver in a limousine, but the guy probably has a pretty good nest egg and a business that he can pass on to his children that can be lucrative through hard work. My point is, liberals tend to judge people by their titles, occupation, race, etc. without knowing all of the facts. They seem to think that "taxes on the rich" only applies to the "fat cats" on Wall Street. They fail to realize that many small business owners, based on their tax return might be considered "the rich". I suspect TAM was probably going at Stroud to try to debunk what he said about tax savings. I personally don't care about what people earn myself, and I certainly think that government needs to keep their hands off of those earnings as much as possible. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't. |
