The fact that you think this thread, and my discussion in it, has something to do with an agenda against churches proved you have a hard time understanding core themes within a text based conversion.


This thread has nothing to do with anti church themes. Rather, it is a discussion of how politically problematic it is for a particular candidate to give a donation to a highly controversial group that has a clear bigotry towards another group, when that candidate has spent the last few months trying to claim he is actively trying to court that group into voting for him.

Since when is the Southern Baptist Convention a "highly controversial group"?  Just because their belief is against a certain personal practice makes them bigots?  Please name one source where they actually condemn homosexuality other than in a religious context.  Please give an example of how their teachings and beliefs are "controversial".

 

I'll let you in on a little secret.  Most Judaeo-Christian religions teach the same thing.  I suspect that the Muslim religion as well as the Jewish religion have similar teachings.

 

For the record, I'm not affiliated in any way with any of the above religions, but I am quite familiar with all of them.  I don't want to turn this into a religious discussion, rather my focus is on your claim that the institution involved is a "bigoted" or "hateful" group.  Please show us an example of that.

 

By the way... please explain what a "text based conversion" is.  You know, since you are college educated and all.
