But what if Alabama is better?  They finished with the same record as Baylor but played a more difficult schedule.  Why penalize teams in good conferences and protect those in weaker ones?  Again, a team would be better off playing in a weak conference and running the table every year.

 

The bowl committee needs to decide, is the goal of the 4 team playoff to pick the 4 best teams or the 4 most deserving.  There is a difference between the two.
