We should have won the 1st Houston game (Babich should have been fired immediately after that). We also should have won the second tacks game and the Bucs game. Any competent defensive coordinator would have held the opponents to under 20 points in those three games.


 

That's three. There were also a few other close games where the defense failed, such as the first clots game.


 

And yes, Gus coaching the Pats would have them at 8-8, especially if he was responsible for player development for the previous two years.

A couple of problems with this argument.

 

1)  The defense actually performed decently against  these backup QBs you cited.

 

2)  I'm not sure how Bradley could have been blamed for Mariota running for 88 yards, and botched C shotgun snaps.

 

Furthermore, even assuming no play call changed at all in the first Colts game, if Myers hits a FG, the Jaguars win that game.  Not sure how Bradley is responsible for Myers missing makeable FGs.
