You left out the point that disputes what you just said.  You are trying to find fault with my arguement when my arguement addressses that exact fault you were trying to find.

 

Innovations in IT may be an area where a formal education isn't necessary...  Which is why I mentioned Bill Gates.  There are always entrepreneurs that create a business without a college degree.  I pointed that out.

 

But are you gonna sit there and say that University education is not important?  I'm gonna tell you that you're absolutely wrong.  The advances in medicine, in physics, in space exploration, in engineering and robotics, these are all advances in which a formal College Education is required.

 

Do I think that's better than the plumber or electrician, or IT coder that does well for himself?  No, not really.  And I've said as much in other threads.

 

But at the macro economic level, University education is the key driver of advancement of a society.  That's just the facts, bro.
