Donald Trump accurately pointed out that NATO was not designed to counter the threats of violent extremism that have become a major threat to the western powers of today.  As such, Nato began to undergo internal reforms to meet the challengers.  As he also stated, we pay an inordinate amount compared to other countries that are essentially getting a free ride.  In order for anything to make dollars, it has to make sense.

I hate both of these candidates. But at least Hillary has some history of navigating the Hill and has relationships to get things done.

 

really?  40 years in government, what major legislative accomplishments has she spearheaded?  How did Hillary Care work out for her?  Is she or is she not going straight to the hearings chamber over all the documents that are being released that indicate lying to congress and the FBI?  Do you think this is going to make the right more eager to work with her? 


 

Trumps tax plan is priced to move.  both sides have been working on repatriation of funds for a long time now.  The legislation for most of his immigration policy is already on the BOOKS.  Hillary on the other hand would have to spend the vast majority of her political capital trying to force through a SCOTUS nominee through what is shaping up to be Mitch McConnels senate.  A Trump win would mean both houses of congress in line with the presidency.  The argument for legislative ease is a non-starter.


 

Trump thinks Congress is gonna follow his lead .. or else. True leadership does not require bullying and intimidation (although Negan is pretty killer). My greatest hope is whoever gets in does minimal damage until a better president usurps the throne in 4 years.

 

Trump thinks Congress is going to follow his lead because there is bipartisan support for most of the ideas that he is proposing.  The dirty little secret is that in reality, trump is pretty down the center on most issues.  Tax reform, but no crazy drop in marginal tax rates.  Enforcing immigration laws on the books but leaving the door open to normalization of non-criminal aliens.  Pragmatic foreign policy of peace through strength etc. 

 

Paul Ryan rose to fame as a deficit hawk.  I don't think that Trump's move to efficiency in the federal budget is going to be all that onerous to him!
