I'll take that.  Fair enough.  Perhaps not even just player development but utilizing strengths, masking weaknesses.  I believe JDR managed to do that during his tenure here with continually weak ends, limited receivers and average QBs.  Hence all those sexy schemes with Mike Smith and Mel Tucker employing DPRs, Brent Hawkins, Greg Favors, Jorge Cordova etc to get after the QB, and the 3 yards and a cloud of dust game plans we sometimes fumed on with MJD/Freddy T but kept us afloat and minimized mistakes.

 

Now, we insist on the run without personnel for it, showing our hand on passing downs, and hardly attempt to affect the passer on D.
