20 of Bortles' 89 passes haven't crossed line of scrimmage and 40 (44.9 percent) haven't gone past 5 yard...

I wonder if Olson is trying to diminish Bortles' current bout with accuracy issues with all this short stuff.

That certainly is one of the possibilities.

It could be:

- current accuracy issues deep for BB

- using short passes as a substitute for a struggling rushing attack

- protection issues with the re-shuffled O-line (not enough protection time for a lot of deep stuff)

Man, this O-line is not near what it needs to be. I know Caldwell has put a lot of focus on the O-line the past few years with draftees and FAs in/out of the picture. But, it still has a long way to go.

To this point, last season's O-line looked better than what we're seeing so far this season, IMO.

Linder was a rock-solid Guard. He's now moved to Center.

Joeckel looks completely terrible at Guard. He at least was decent in quite a few games last year at LT.

Beadles was a better LG than Joeckel (as hard as it is to believe).

Wiz was a lot more experienced "mentally" than Linder at Center. Linder is still learning.

Parnell was a backup O-lineman at Dallas. We all thought that it was because Dallas was just stacked there. But, maybe Parnell was a backup for a reason. His play has let me down already this year (IMO). He looked awful against Ingram last week.

Maybe the O-line will start to gel, and look much better later in the season. But right now, last season's lineup was better (PUKE, I know).
