His mechanics may have taken a step back, but taking sacks in key situations is not mechanics. Checking into the wrong play at the line of scrimmage is not mechanics. Not getting the team lined up in time is not mechanics. 

 

That is all teaching/learning situational football and film study. My point was that. He needs to work those things, and needs coaches who will get him to do those things well. You can overcome some bad mechanics if you get those things corrected.

 

To be elite, sure he needs to fix some mechanics. But right now we are not even expecting that, we need average. Then we can hope for average. (Yes is frustrating to take a step backwards, but that happens sometimes.)
