Show the fans that they are being heard. Give the fanbase hope of a turnaround next year and possibly this year. Dolphins climbed to 6-10 after firing their coach after a 1-3 start last year. That alone is better than any season Gus has given us. Think about it for a second. This team so desperately needs hope for it to retain a semblance of a fanbase. We've stuck with the losers that have been the Jacksonville Jaguars and have actually increased ticket sales in recent years to show our hope and support for a team that's supposed to be on the rise. We haven't had a winning season in 9 years. It's been 6 years since we hit 50/50, so we've had a solid 5 years(arguably more) of being the laughing stock of the NFL.

 

Firing Gus gives up yet more hope that we're onto bigger better things and the better question is, what negative implications does firing Gus have? Honestly the only I could think of is team morale but who knows if that would even be an issue. Team could give up on Gus in 4 weeks at this rate.
