Ramsey, Jack & Defensive rookie of the year NFL.com predictions
|
Was just reading a bit on NFL.com and found this article on nfl.com that was written in late august.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...r-and-more There are predictions on MVP, offensive player of the year and so on. In the "Defensive rookie of the year" category Ramsey and Jack were predicted by most writers as candidates for winning it. Among 23 writers, 14 of them voted for the 2 Jaguars players: 9 voted Jack and 5 Ramsey. The other 9 votes were distributed on different players, among which Hargreaves, Nkemdiche, Lee and others. I think this is another proof of how much talent we have added, 2 potential defensive rookie of the year candidates, even if just on "paper" is insane. While I think Ramsey won't win it (not that it matters) because our front 7 is not aggressive enough to let the DB's to contanstly play the ball I think Jalen has proved he's the real deal and has played very very well in this beginning of season. He's a stud and hopefully will get better and better especially if they bring in a new coaching staff soon (hopefully). On the other hand I think this article just shows even more how crazy it is that the guy who got most votes and the writers favourite, Jack, not only isn't starting, not only isn't even in on some packages: he isn't playing at all (aside from garbage time against SD and some special teams) while even Brown and Pullard have played more snaps than him.
