That backed that kick up an extra 10 yards and turned it from a 42 to a 52 yard field goal which was then blocked. You absolutely cannot take a sack there. A 42 yarder isn't going to be kicked as low as a 52 yarder and should be harder to block as a result. I guess you could hang some of the responsibility there on Olsen as well for not calling a running play or a roll out to ensure we didn't take the sack. A 4 point lead would have forced the Ravens to go for the endzone and made it much more difficult for them. They have one of the best kickers in the league. I think I just talked myself into blaming Olsen more than Bortles for that but they both still hold some blame. A running play would be just as bad with the five guys up front. None of them are good run blockers. What Blake should have done was throw the ball away to avoid yardage loss on the play. I can't blame that sack on Greg Olson. |
