Interesting comparison with Bortles and Farve.

When you're being asked to throw 50 times a game because you cannot run. It's beyond him. Not every pass is going to be pretty. Peyton Manning didn't throw a tight spiral his whole career. Brett Favre also threw wounded ducks around as well.

My point is that people are nit picking this kid after he just made his 32nd career NFL start in three years. That's officially two full seasons of NFL football. It's called growing pains. He's still 24 years old. Wasn't even suppose to play his rookie year because of his mechanics. But because of the ineptitude of this front office and coaching staff he was thrust into the fire.

Anything is possible when you have the right staff and team to support you. Brees was subpar in San Diego. Palmer struggled in Cincinnati. Eli Manning struggled in New York.

You have to give him time to develop. And he's not going to develop with a coaching staff that's not capable of getting it done. Look at all the successful teams since 2010. The key formula for winning is what? Great defense, ball control with a superb running game and an offense led by a QB who can pick and choose and call his own shots in the passing game thanks to the run game keeping the opposing defense honest.

He's being asked to do too much, once again, for a sorry headcoach. I am willing to bet you that a coach like John Fox, Bruce Arians, Andy Reid, Chip Kelly, Hue Jackson, Pete Carroll, Mike Zimmer and even Jay Gruden would have this team with at least two wins right now with the talent that we have on offense. Especially had they been here since the beginning.
