Chris Simms says to end Bortles experiment
|
The absolute earliest Bortles gets canned is October 2017. Henne isn't an upgrade, even with Blake playing like crap, Allen isn't ready and Blake isn't playing badly enough to warrant being pulled for a 6th round rookie and there's nobody on the street who can help.
Best/worst case scenario for Bortles being dropped, depending on how you see it: Blake plays crap all year. A new coaching and maybe FO staff comes in. We draft a new QB somewhere before the 4th round. Obviously any new coach is going to say they back Blake, but in reality his leash will be super short and if Blake plays poorly to start the season, the new coach gives 'his guy' a shot. There simply isn't the option to pull Blake before then. Quote:Just to be different, Bortles. |
