I don't think the amount of pressure Bortles has been under to literally carry this team at such a young age can be overstated. Virtually no one is overlooking nor dismissing the flaws in his game...there is much to talk about here. My take is still that the majority of them are in his head and can be corrected. However, any attempt to compare him to his peers (Bridgewater or Carr), who are in vastly superior situations defensively, with coaching, along the offensive line and/or running game seem pretty disingenuous to me.

 

He's shown us enough flashes of what he's capable of when he's on point that one would think he would have earned a little more patience from onlookers. For perspective, outside of preseason, I don't ever recall seeing anything even remotely as impressive from his two immediate predecessors.
