Blake with a running game, played solid
|
Quote:I like that he used his legs more, if defenses are going to concede 7-8 yards take advantage of it. Blake doesn't look comfortable in the pocket if the initial read is taken away, I'd like to see more "calmness" in the pocket if you will. Watch Dak Prescott, he's obviously playing with a better line but he's basically a statue in the pocket, calmly going through his reads, similar to Tom Brady. Our protection has been good enough to allow Blake to calmly go through his reads as well, I'd like to see him (calmly) go through his reads while stepping into his throws, with a quick compact throwing motion, that's the next development of his game and its a big one. I'm fairly certain we can blame past precedent for this. For the past two seasons, Blake got hammered behind our line. I'm of the mindset that we'll see him begin to settle down and trust them to give him time to go through his progressions. I don't think it's feasible to expect this to happen instantaneously however. I have faith he'll get there. I have wondered for awhile now if sharp uptick in accuracy and decision making while moving is directly related to him trusting himself more than his line? I mean it should be more difficult to accurately throw a rope between two defenders while rolling out than standing in the pocket sipping tea, right?
