The Republican party will just dig in deeper.  Like they've always done.  The next four years it'll be blaming Hillary on everything.  (Not that it'd be different if Donald somehow wins, in which case we'll blame Trump for everything.)  It's gone back a while.  Both sides of Americans are drifting further and further apart.  There's so much mudslinging that each side thinks the other side is 'evil'. Nobody's even willing to consider the other side for their own.  I'm not sure there's room for reconciliation at this point.  The party will see Trump's loss as 'he wasn't far right enough'.  But it's not like they can drift left anyway without losing several of their constituents.  Support Obama on anything?  You're out.  We just get more obstructionism.

 

It's only going to get worse, too.  I mean look at all the accusations hurled against Obama.  Like he hates America.  I mean I remember accusations hurled at Bush, and we've gone a step further here.  And Trump/Hillary will be even worse.  How often do you hear someone say "I didn't like Bush as President, but he did a good job with...."  or "I don't like Obama as President, but his idea to... is good"?   or "I don't like Trump, but his position on ___ is good" or "I don't like Hillary, but I prefer her position on ___"?


We're just drifting further and further apart, and it'll continue.  I'm not sure after this election it'll be possible to drift back together.
